Privacy, kept plain.
Caption Source Check is designed to work locally in your browser. We do not collect, receive, sell, or retain the captions you read.
What the extension accesses
Only after you select the extension, it receives temporary access to the active tab. It reads standard caption-track information already exposed by that page: track labels, language, type, live status, and active caption cues. Browser-internal pages cannot be checked.
What stays on your device
The page bridge holds up to 150 recent cue lines in temporary memory so you can follow and briefly scroll back. That memory is discarded when the source page closes or reloads; the reader view is discarded when its tab closes. The extension uses no local or cloud storage.
Network and analytics
The extension makes no external network requests and includes no analytics, advertising, cookies, or third-party scripts. The website may be served with standard short-lived server logs by its host; it sets no tracking cookies.
Your choices
Close the reader or source tab to discard its temporary transcript. Remove the extension at any time through your browser’s extension settings.
