Caption Source Check is a free utility that reports caption information a webpage exposes through standard browser video APIs. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Permitted use

Use the extension to check and read captions on pages you are allowed to access. Continue to follow the host site’s terms and applicable law.

Product boundaries

The extension does not promise that every player exposes its captions, that a publisher’s captions are accurate, or that a live track is uninterrupted. It does not bypass access controls, extract hidden tracks, download media, or create transcripts from audio.

No warranty

The software is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Do not rely on it as the sole caption source for safety-critical communication.

Open-source license

The project software is provided under the MIT License included with the package. These site terms do not reduce the rights that license grants.

Changes

If these terms materially change, the effective date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
